Attitude of Gratitude
Dear Christ Jesus, there is so much to be grateful for, no matter what our circumstances. Help me to help others today, who read this – may we all see what you say about having an Attitude of Gratitude. What is the best scriptures for us to read that give us good instruction in this area, Master of the Universe?
Read the Book of James, my child. There, in context, is a complete view of why you should be grateful in all things. Even in the midst of pain and suffering. For example: 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 NIV
What does it mean to be mature and complete, not lacking anything? Dear Jesus, please help us to see what this means.
Dear child, I want my followers to have wisdom, which is beyond just knowledge of me. I want my children to be wise. Ask me every day for wisdom in how you can best please me, the Author and Perfecter of your faith. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 NIV
Yes, Lord. 12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV. Lord Jesus, we have to ask for this wisdom, so that we will not grow weary and lose heart, no matter what our circumstances. Correct?
Yes, it is essential that you ask for help. I am here to help you. But you must ask for it. Reflect on this: 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7 NIV
Christ Jesus, here is my summary of what you are saying:
1. No matter what we are going through, what we CAN gain from the earthly situation is heavenly wisdom IF we ASK.
2. We must ASK.
3. If we ASK for your wisdom, we shall receive it, and will be strengthened, better able to endure all that life brings us.
Dear child, 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
Christ Jesus, the end result of gaining your wisdom is the gaining of your peace. Is that right?
Yes, my child. It is the peace that only I can bring. Nothing of this world will bring you eternal peace. Peace that comes from my Holy Spirit is true peace. Everything that comes from this world is ephemeral peace – it does not last. My peace lasts forever. What you are able to get now are glimpses of my peace. When you are with me in Heaven you will have total peace for eternity.
Dear Lord Jesus, you led me to an amazing amount of wisdom here today: 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15-17 NIV. We thank you right now, for:
1. Your wisdom.
2. Your peace.
3. Your presence.
Thank you for being so accessible to us, that we may come into an intimate conversation with you at any time, ask you for your wisdom and your peace, and you grant it freely to us, for it your good and perfect will for us to find all wisdom, all peace, and all gratitude as a result of knowing you. Thank you for our Attitude of Gratitude.
Go in peace, to love and serve me, your Lord, Savior, Master, Teacher, and Friend.
We are friends. Best friends. You are a true very best of the best friend. There is no better friend that we can have but you. We are so grateful for that friendship. We are grateful that you are so approachable. So loving, kind, generous, patient, and merciful. Thank you for this Attitude of Gratitude that results from our intimacy with you.
My child, I love you. I love all who follow me. I love you more that you can possibly imagine.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20 NIV.
