Father God, you gave me this topic today. Help me to learn what it is you want me to learn.

Dear child: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 NIV

Yes, Father. Your Son laid down his life for me. Christ Jesus is a true friend. I need to be a better friend to my human friends. I am not laying down enough of me. I want to lay down more of myself.

My child, anyone you touch should be treated like your best friend. Reflect on this: 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:10 NIV

Yes, Lord. It is simply a matter of the amount of time and attention I put into being a friend to others. But you are calling me to treat everyone equally well.

Yes, my child. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 NIV

Father God, in order to carry the burdens of my brothers and sisters, I need to be able to talk to them about their burdens. And if they do not feel safe to share those burdens, then they won’t. And it order for them to feel safe, there needs to be trust. Pastors have a way of building that trust. They listen really well, and are not interested in having their share of a conversation. They talk about the other person and their needs. Help me to be more like that, please.

Dear Child, you are like that already. You just don’t realize it. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV.

Thank you Lord. That is encouraging. Thank you for encouraging me. Well, let me end today with some encouragement to my brothers and sisters who read this daily post.

NOTE: ALL, let’s reach out specifically to pastors and befriend them. Some of them are very lonely and need encouragement and to be built up. They just came off of a very hard work weekend. Easter celebrations can be very taxing for them. Let’s reach out and be a source of encouragement and positive support as they recover from this last week. May the peace of Christ be with all of you, and may you be encouraged to live your life in such a way as to glorify Him, the One: Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior. Amen.
