Friends, we Christ-followers often say, “Praise the Lord!” Sometimes, I forget the power of this phrase.
During my morning meditation, I read selected passages from Psalms 1 to 150, and “Praise the Lord” appeared 33 times throughout this book. “Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws” (Psalm 119:164) informs us about the number of times throughout our day we should praise our mighty God. This verse offers us a gentle nudge to infuse our day with praise, allowing it to permeate our thoughts, actions, and interactions.
Please join me in praising the Lord:
- Praise you, Father God, for you are our perfect Father in Heaven. Your love knows no bounds, and your guidance is unwavering. With gratitude, we recognize your presence in our lives.
- Praise you, Jesus Christ, for you are our perfect Savior and Master. Through your sacrifice, we find redemption and purpose. As we navigate the complexities of life, we’re grateful for your example of love and service.
- Praise you, Holy Spirit, for you are our perfect Guide on our journey to Heaven. Your gentle whispers lead us, your comfort sustains us, and your wisdom empowers us. In a world filled with noise, we’re grateful for the still, small voice that guides us.
Friends, we Christ-followers often say, “Praise the Lord!” Sometimes, I forget the power that this simple phrase holds.
In a world filled with distractions and challenges, taking moments throughout our day to pause and utter these three words can be a transformative experience. It’s easy to become consumed by our daily routines, our worries, and our ambitions, but in the midst of it all, praising the Lord can bring us back to a place of spiritual alignment. From joy and gratitude to sorrow and longing, the Psalms serve as a reminder that we can approach God with our whole selves and continually praise God for all He has done, is doing, and will do for us.
INVITATION TO PRAISE GOD SEVEN TIMES PER DAY
So, I invite you to join me in this beautiful practice of praising the Lord seven times per day.
Let’s make an effort to infuse our day with praise. In moments of joy, let’s praise the Lord. In moments of challenge, let’s praise the Lord. In moments of stillness, let’s praise the Lord. May this simple yet profound and repetitive act of praise remind us of our connection to God the Father, Christ Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Let’s not underestimate the power of the phrase “Praise the Lord.” With each utterance, we create a space for God’s presence to dwell within us and around us. So, let us come together in unity, lifting our voices and hearts in praise as we navigate this remarkable journey of faith together.
Praise the Lord!
Your aspiring servant,
Daniel M.
